Flower Care Tips

Caring for Your Beautiful Flower Arrangement From our Seymour studio to your home, we want your blooms to shine for as long as possible! Follow these simple tips to enjoy your arrangement at its freshest:

  • Start fresh - Display your arrangement in a clean vase with cool, fresh water (room temperature is ideal). If your florist included flower food, add it according to the packet - it really helps!

  • Trim regularly - Every 2 to 3 days, re-cut the stems at a sharp 45 degree angle under water using clean scissors or secateurs. This keeps the stems open and drinking happily.

  • Change the water - Refresh the water every couple of days (daily in warm weather) to prevent bacteria build-up. Remove any foliage below the waterline to keep things clean.

  • Find the perfect spot - Place your arrangement in a cool spot away from direct sunlight, heaters, air conditioners, vents, fruit bowls, or ripening produce. In Victoria’s summers, avoid hot windowsills; in winter, steer clear of drying heaters.

  • Top up & mist - Top up the vase with fresh water daily if needed, and give petals a gentle mist in dry or warm conditions to keep them hydrated.

With a little love, your locally-grown and hand-selected blooms can brighten your space for up to a week or more. Enjoy every petal - and feel free to pop back in if you need a refresh!
